Constitution - Triggers Cricket Club

 

Name

The organization shall be known as the "Triggers Cricket Club"

Statement of purpose

The goals of the Triggers Cricket Club are:
1. To establish and maintain a formal association for the playing of cricket in Houston.
2. To be recognized as an official cricket club by  Houston Cricket League
3. To Promote Cricket in the North Houston Area and to secure a ground for the club in North Houston.

Article I: Membership requirements and Organization

Section 1
1. Membership in the Triggers Cricket Club is open to all.
2. People of different origins and cultures are welcome to be part of TCC.
3. A Life time membership fee of $100 will be collected from each member.

Section 2
1. The Executive Committee of the Triggers Cricket Club shall be as follows:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Statistician
  • Ex-OfficioI
  • Ex-OfficioII
  • Ex-OfficioIII
2. All elected officials of the Executive Committee (EC) shall be elected by vote of members of the club, through a simple majority.
3. All elected officials shall hold office for a period of two years. 
4. Elected Officials can be removed from office by vote of members of the Club, through a simple majority. Voting to remove a member from office must be deemed necessary or approved by the TCC Committee.
5. Voting for removal may take place at any time after committee's approval. At least half of the members must be present in order for such a meeting to be valid.
6. Elected Officials may resign. In the event of resignation of officers, the committee will nominate a member to the vacant position.

Article II: Duties and powers of officers.

Section 1
President:

1. The President shall preside at all meetings of the organization and shall be the representative of this organization before other external groups.
2. The President shall meet with the EC as necessary to discuss any issue related to the club.
3. The President should authorize any purchase of material(Cricket kit etc) for the club.
4. The President should authorize any events conducted by the members on behalf of the club.
5. The President shall submit all reports of the work done to the
succeeding President.
6. The President will break the tie in the case where EC votes to a deadlock.

Section 2
Vice-President:

1. The Vice-President shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of the President.
2. The Vice-President will head all disciplinary hearings and is authorized to pick a 3 member committee to deal with all disciplinary hearing.

Section 3
Secretary:

1. The Secretary shall notify the organization members of the meetings.
2. The Secretary will work with the committee and captains to delegate work to members on/off the cricket fields.
3. The Secretary shall coordinate the recruitment efforts of the club. 

Section 4
Treasurer

1. The Treasurer shall keep a complete record of expenses of the organization.
2. The Treasurer shall authorize organization expenditures with the approval of the Executive Committee.
3. The Treasurer shall prepare annual and incremental budgets and deliver of the budgets to the Executive committee for approval.
4. The Treasurer shall give financial reports to the organization at each meeting.
5. The Treasurer shall make equipment orders and keep track of club reimbursements.

Article III: Selection/discipline policies for Leagues Conducted in Houston by HCL
Section 1

Houston Cricket League(HCL) conducts the following leagues
1. Summer League Sunday Cricket
2. Winter League Sunday Cricket

Section 2
Policies to participate in any league

1. The TCC Executive committee will decide whether to participate in any of the leagues.
2. At any point no player that is not a member of the TCC will be allowed to play in the league match.

Section 3
Appointment of Captain, Vice Captain, Selection Committee and Disciplinary Committee

1. The TCC Executive committee will nominate the Captain, Vice Captain, Selection Committee and Disciplinary Committee.
2. Appointments are subjected to change every league season.

Section 4
Selection of the playing XI

1. The selection committee will decide a playing XI for each match.
2. All members are guaranteed a min number of match for each season\league.
3. Each Player has to pay his dues before to get selected into the playing XI.

Section 4
Discipline in the match

1. All the team members will obey the captain's orders on the field.
2. It is the captain's responsibility to communicate with the opponent team and the umpires.
3. No Player is allowed to confront with other team members and spoil TCC's reputation in the league.
4. Captain will report any discipline issues to the VP who heads the disciplinary committee.
5. Disciplinary committee will take action on the concerned players based on the severity of the issue

Article IV Amendments

Amendments to the By Laws shall be presented during elections by any member of the organization and shall be passed, after the second reading, by a majority vote. Half of the members of the club shall be present at any such meeting in order for an amendment to be validated.

Notice of non-discrimination

The Triggers Cricket Club does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, religion, age.

Statement of Intent to comply

The Triggers Cricket Club intends to fully comply with all HCL Policies.
