TCC would like to thank Mr. Jitu Patel, 1979 Canada World Cup player, for accepting to be the chief guest; for the TCC Winter League Taped Ball Tournament Finals. The finals will be held between Cougars and Rattlers on Jan 10, 2009 at 8.30 am in Matzke Park.
TCC would like to take this opportunity and honor Mr. Jitu Patel, for his services to Houston Cricket. He has been an inspiring figure in Houston Cricket for many youngsters. He is a leading player in HCL and plays for the legendary Houston India Cricket Club (HICC).
The 1975 Canadian season produced the sensation of the decade when Eastern Canada defeated the touring Australian World Cup side led by Ian Chappell at Toronto by five wickets. The stage was set early in this historic event when Canadian bowlers Jitu Patel, Rick Stevens and Roy Callender bowled competently to dismiss the powerful Australian side for a modest 159 runs to pave the way for victory.
TCC is greatly honored to have you as our chief guest and thanks you for your services to Houston Cricket.
We would like to welcome all to come and watch the finals in Matzke Park.
TCC salutes Sachin Tendulkar for breaking Brian Lara’s record for most Test runs on Friday in Mohali. It is a privilege to be born and watch cricket of a career of the best(if not one of the best) cricketer of all time. Thank you Sachin, for bringing us joy while watching cricket. As Harsha Bogle says “The turnstiles were the evidence: when he was in they flocked through them in their thousands and thousands and when he was out they flocked out again. It is 10 years since India Today reported: ‘When he goes out to bat people switch on their TV sets and switch off their lives.’ ”
When asked about the journey, Sachin said ‘Success is a process and during that journey sometimes there are stones thrown at you and you convert them into milestones. It’s a great feeling.’. Millions of us feel proud and share the same feeling with you. Thank you Sachin.
TCC congratulates HCSC I for winning Division I, HICC I for winning Division II and EECC for winning Division III for Summer League 2008. These teams have performed well through out the season and they thoroughly deserve the championships. TCC also congratulates all the teams that have qualified for the play offs and wish all the teams the best.
As someone said “It’s not achieving the goal that’s important, it’s the journey that took you there. Enjoy the ride!!!”
Wish all the teams the best ride.
TCC Congratulates all the selected players. TCC wishes all the selected players the best. Vivek, Jaam, OZ and Surya picked the following team to play the first two games of Intercity Cricket Tournament.
